After the release of July Security patch for Nokia 2 on Android Nougat and Oreo, Nokia 2 users on Android Nougat were not able to request the optional Android Oreo Beta build. This was due to build timestamping error and the Android Oreo build was temporarily taken down to avoid confusion.
Nokia Mobile was working on a fix and it seems they have fixed this issue. Nokia 2 Android Oreo update page now has an option to request the beta build OTA. I have requested the update but haven't received it so far. If you have a Nokia 2 and want to try out the Android Oreo Beta build you can register and request an OTA from this link.
UPDATE
The optional Android 8.1 Oreo update for the Nokia 2 has finally been rolled out. Those who have requested the OTA have already started receiving the update soon. The update is 1362.5 MB in size and also brings the latest November 2019 Android Security patch. This will be the last update for the Nokia 2 and no new monthly security patches will be rolled out from now on. This applies to both Nokia 2 running on Nougat as well as Oreo.
